Your data, in plain English

The stuff you put into an app
Whatever you log inside a Loft app — habits, notes, ratings, entries — is saved in your own browser, on your own device. It isn’t uploaded to us, and it isn’t shared with the person who made the app or with anyone you share it with. Clear your browser storage and it’s gone.
When an app uses AI
Some apps include an AI helper. When you use it, the text you give it is sent to our server and on to our AI provider so it can answer — so that part does notstay only on your device, and those requests may be logged to keep the service running safely. Don’t put anything into an AI feature you wouldn’t be comfortable sending to a server.
Your email
If you sign in or join the early-access list, we store your email to send your magic link and the occasional update. We don’t sell it or share it for advertising.
Apps you publish
Publishing makes an app reachable at a public link, so anyone with the URL can open and use it. The app’s design is public; the data each visitor enters still stays on their own device. You can take an app down at any time from My apps.
What sits on our servers
Your account (the email you signed in with), the apps you build, their version history and the sentence you typed to make each one. That lives in a Supabase database in the United States. The apps you have not published are visible to you alone. Pro billing runs through Stripe, which keeps your card details; we see the plan you are on and a Stripe customer id, never a card number. What a visitor logs inside a published app (a habit ticked, a trip saved) is kept in the same database under an anonymous cookie, so it follows them across devices.
How we watch the site work
PostHog records which pages load and which buttons get pressed, so we can see where people get stuck. Sentry records errors with the page they happened on. Neither one reads what you type into an app. There is no advertising pixel on useloft.co.
If you sell an app
Selling is off until you switch it on. When you do, Stripe Connect holds your payout details, not us, and your buyers’ card numbers never touch our servers.
Questions or deletion
Want something removed, or just have a question? Email hello@useloft.co and a person answers within a day. Ask us to delete your account and your apps and their history are gone within 30 days; there is no delete button in Settings yet, so the email is the way.
